  • External surface of case is sealed - Reduces corrosion and fatigue.

    mileage transmissions, we recommend our high performance rebuilt
    transmission along with a new TripleLok® Torque Converter. When looking
    for the ultimate in performance, combine our TripleLok Commander®
    Lockup Controller with our HD Transmission and Torque Converter.

The ATS Five Star© is a revolutionary Torque Converter that utilizes all of the technologies of a traditional torque converter plus the innovative ATS Viskus Clutch Drive. The ATS Viskus Clutch Drive is the heart of the ATS Five Star© Torque Converter.

The ATS Viskus Clutch Drive, along with the fluid-coupling portion of the torque converter, share in the increase of transfer of power through the torque converter. Unlike other torque converters relying on fluid transfer from the impeller to the turbine via the stator, the Five Star© utilizes ATS Viskus Clutch Drive technology that transfers rotational energy from the engine to the transmission. When the Torque Converter Clutch is commanded to come on, the 5 clutch plates provide a 100% mechanical engagement ensuring no plate slippage during lockup, even at power levels in excess of 2000 foot pounds of torque!

The ATS Commander© has been developed to provide control over converter lockup in your vehicle. Factory computers are programmed to disengage lockup under many conditions that often inhibits the performance of the transmission. With a Five Star¿ Torque Converter and The ATS Commander© in place, these non-lockup torque converter situations are no longer an issue.

Co-Pilot Controller

The Co-Pilot® Electronic Transmission Package makes it possible to control the Ford Powerstroke 5R-110 Transmission (2003-Present). Unlike the Commander, the Co-Pilot provides complete control over your torque converter as well as line pressure. Features include:

  • Load sensitive line pressure control.
  • Torque converter clutch control that is adjustable on the fly.
  • Intelligent Logic which brings in the torque converter clutch only under optimal operating conditions.

Mate the Co-Pilot package with the Stage V Transmission, and you have the ultimate in transmission performance and durability.

Controlling the E4OD or 4R-100 transmission is now possible with the release of the ATS Select Shift Standalone Transmission Controller. The ATS Select Shift simply plugs into any Ford E4OD or 4R-100 Transmission, and allows for full control of the transmission. Shift timing, lockup, and line pressure are fully laptop programmable.

Tayloring the optimal strategy only takes a few hours to dial in the exact mapping for your vehicle. Add one to six adjustable analog Potentometers to adjust shift or lockup timing, shift quality, or line pressure on the fly. This is the most powerful, easy-to-use, plug-and-play transmission control system available today.

An ATS Aluminum Transmission Pan is an easy upgrade that can make more difference to your transmission than any other part that can be added to the exterior during a routine service. Extend oil life and scheduled services, lower transmission heat, and make servicing easier due to the large one inch drain plug with a built in magnet.
External Transmission Cooling Systems will help to keep your transmission running at optimal temperatures. Cooler flow is a key factor in keeping temperatures in check. The Lubrication Circuit is responsible for over 90% of transmission cooling. Transmission coolers must not restrict flow from and to the transmission, and must extract heat efficiently. When choosing a transmission cooler, it is critical to choose the one that is a self-regulating style cooler. A self-regulating cooler allows the transmission fluid to pass through it under cool operating temperatures so as to allow gear train lubrication while still providing maximum cooling efficiency under extremely hot operating conditions as well. A thermostatically controlled, fan-forced (reversible rotation), low pressure drop unit is the preferred choice when choosing an optimal transmission cooler for your vehicle. From the bone-chilling cold of Northern Alaska to the radiating heat of the Mohave Desert, this is the premier transmission cooler for any diesel application. Utilizing an ATS Diesel Extra Deep Transmission Pan coupled with an External Transmission Cooling System ensures that you have a fool-proof way of beating the heat.
ATS carries a full line of Performance Clutches for truck applications ranging from stock power for standard towing needs to extreme power for sled pulling and racing applications.

Intermediate Level Clutches include these features:

  • All 7.3 clutch kits eliminate the unreliable Ford dual mass flywheel by using a solid performance flywheel. The large spring center clutch disk offers a smooth engagement and driveline protection.
  • Organic-Feramic (OFE) Disk offers smooth engagement while being capable of handling some serious torque. This clutch is best suited for towing purposes. Good for power up to 450 HP / 1000 FP.
  • Full Feramic (FE) Disks are for those looking for the ultimate in holding capacity with a single disk clutch. A great clutch for the hot-rod crowd, but not recommended for towing delicate loads. 550 HP / 1100 FP.

Extreme Level Clutches include the following features:

  • Extreme level clutches can be built with a wide variety of clutch materials and pressure plates which allows for building anything from a mild street clutch to a "sled pulling" clutch.

  • A new 13-inch Dual Disk Machined Billet Flywheel with a bronze/feramic inlay for greater holding capacity and the ability to rebuild the flywheel. Center Plates are cryogenically treated.

ATS Manual Transmissions utilize the leading edge technology in Synchronizer Blocking Rings. All bearings are high-load design for superior strength and durability. Shafts are stress re-lieved and precision checked for straightness and runout. Gears are heat treated and made from the highest quality material available. Units are custom assembled and set to the minimum allowable specifications for end play and gear clearance. This unit delivers easy shifting and the extreme in reliability.
